AFGE Local 2001 and FCI Fort Dix, FMCS Nos. 14-580848; 14-58046-1 Late Overtime and Differentials Grievances

Kalijarvi, Chuzi, Newman & Fitch is happy to announce the recovery of $7,500,000 in AFGE Local 2001's grievance against FCI Fort Dix, New Jersey for failing to timely and/or correctly compensate bargaining unit employees by paying overtime late to bargaining unit employees who are FLSA non-exempt, and failing to pay shift differentials correctly to all bargaining unit employees, such as night differential, Sunday Premium Pay and holiday pay. The grievance regarding overtime paid late covers affected bargaining unit employees who worked at FCI Fort Dix during the period April 18, 2011 through December 14, 2017. The grievance regarding failure to pay differentials correctly covers affected bargaining unit employees who worked at FCI Fort Dix during the period April 18, 2008 through December 14, 2017.

The Union will be distributing money only to the affected bargaining unit employees who complete the Union's form. The sign-up period for this case has ended and we are in the process of calculating points to determine how many points each person who signed up is entitled to receive. Once all the points are calculated, each person who completed the Union's sign-up form will receive a letter explaining the points system and how many points he or she is allocated based on this system.
