AFGE Local 506 and USP 2 Coleman, FMCS No. 10-55640 Portal-to-Portal Grievance

Kalijarvi, Chuzi, Newman & Fitch is happy to announce the recovery of $9,500,000 in AFGE Local 506's grievance against USP 2 Coleman for failing to compensate bargaining unit employees covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act ("FLSA") for performing work before and/or after their scheduled shifts. We are honored to have recovered this backpay and liquidated damages on behalf of Local 506's hardworking bargaining unit employees. The grievance covers affected bargaining unit employees who worked at USP 2 Coleman during the period February 16, 2007 through October 10, 2017.

The Union will be distributing money only to the affected bargaining unit employees who complete the Union's form. The sign-up period for this case has ended and we are in the process of calculating points to determine how many points each person who signed up is entitled to receive. Once all the points are calculated, each person who completed the Union's sign-up form will receive a letter explaining the points system and how many points he or she is allocated based on this system.

If you have any questions regarding this process or your sign-up information, please contact Heidi Burakiewicz, the attorney who handled this case, at [email protected]. Email is the best form of communication, but if you wish to call, please call (202) 331-9260 and ask to speak with Alyssa Harrison.

Please remember to thank your Union-AFGE Local 506-without whom there would not have been a grievance or a settlement.
